Graphic Design of Ancient Comminication

My first impression of ancient pictures for communication is having a completeness. I see that the pictures and writings in the Bible from Ethiopia have repetition of shapes and colors. It makes one look all around the whole picture to see all the details of it. The words are in column form which is centered down the middle. Each section of words has a border that shows the repetition of color and the shapes. The pictures also show repetition of color. The contrast is very bright colors on a light background. Each picture has a spatial closeness to each item it relates to. For example, the nativity minature on page 17, shows the baby Jesus in the sky with three angels and the Virgin Mary. This depicts that Christ came from the heavens to Earth which is shown at the bottom of the picture of Mary in the manger holding Jesus. The author of this manuscript wanted to show the importance of this scene and did an excellent job. He used all four principles of design in every page of the manuscript.

New Ways of Teaching

Educator Preparation and Development

Education Preparation and Development means that all educators are prepared to teach the 21st Century students; that they have the education and time to do so. Professional learning is always and ongoing process and essential for all educators. In the Long-Range Plan for Technology: Vision 2020, it says “The role of professional development is to teach teachers how to transform their teaching and learning, to renew and invigorate their passion for teaching, to acquire the new pedagogical and technology skills they must have, and to understand how to successfully integrate technology into instruction, across the curriculum, at all grade levels.” Texas has great teachers that are willing to try new things if they had the now how and the time to prepare.

At our school, we have many bright and eager teachers that want to use technology in the classroom. They are limited by the lack of resources and instructional knowledge. According to research, our school has not changed very much in the last 3 years. In studying the StaR Chart on other local schools, there was only one school in the area that has moved up in classification. The rest have not moved up at all and some have even gone backwards.
I think that school districts need to give ample time to teachers, so that they can learn how to implement technology. They need workdays to learn new ways of teaching, without adding to their school year. They need leaders who are willing to give their time, and help, instead of being afraid to ask for help.

I have learned that :

kids are willing to learn, when they are given the chance
